Installation & training

Installing Plygene® Gutterline

Correct installation methodologies prescribed by Sharman’s 12 Golden Rules are critical to the lifetime performance of the Plygene Gutterline system. Our Trained Contractor network receive comprehensive installation training and ongoing site support is provided by our team of Technical Services Managers. Moreover, a programme of site inspections and or audits is applied on all projects as a prerequisite to release of the Plygene Gutterline 25 year guarantee.

Purpose built training centre

We have two purpose built training facilities – one at our head office in Derbyshire and another in Wiltshire. At both, contractors learn from our experienced Training team about key system components and the installation methods required to secure the system’s 25 year product guarantee. Training programmes include a blended and interactive programme:

  • A review of the key system components
  • Hands-on practical fitting skills using purpose built demonstration rigs
  • Hot air welding techniques for bespoke moulded components
  • The 12 Golden Rules of installation with supporting videos
  • Standard and bespoke system fitting options
  • Digital support tools for installers
  • Site inspection and certification requirements to secure the 25 year product guarantee
  • A detailed surveying and price request guide

Ongoing training support

In addition to the initial contractor Training Programme, ongoing contractor support is provided by a wealth of on line tools that are available to download from our web site including video footage for each of the installation Golden Rules, a full suite of technical product data sheets, health and safety data sheets, Guarantee requests, survey and measuring guides, and associated marketing materials for the end user client.

Sharmans is committed to quality, not just of our system but its installation too. In support of this we have a system guide that includes installation Golden Rules which must be followed and certified by a Trained Contractor in order to ensure the highest quality of installation and request the system guarantee from our Technical Services team.
